View Full Version : Question on 4870 clock settings
On the overclock panel in the CCC, it has the two sliders, set to 750 GPU and 900 Memory, at the bottom it says "Current values" or something like that, it says "500" for GPU and "900" for memory. Does the card lower the clock in "desktop" mode? Or which setting is correct?

They're both correct.
The core speed is reduced in 2D, the upper value value is for 3D.

Doesn't it seem kinda pointless for them to show the 2D clock? Seriously what good does it do anyone? Just seems to cause confusion.

I guess it's a way of letting you know that the current temp your reading is actually the cause of a lower clock so you don't get the false impression that you still have alot of headroom temperature wise for OCing even further.
