Hello I have a Pioneer Elite Pro151FD 60" Plasma, I have my 4850 hooked up to a Denon AVR-3808 via the VGA to HDMI Adapter that came with my 4850 card. So, I have an HDMI cable running from my video card to my AV receiver (AVR-3808) then, out of my AV receiver to my plasma.

How do I, or can I get sound through that card out to my AVR-3808?

If you use Vista in the control panel under Sound Hardware there should be an option for HDMI thats where you need to make a choice with regards to audio over HDMI.

Same is in XP, I already pointed that out before.
Control Panel > Sound and Audio Devices > Audio > select on the pull down menu "ATI HD Audio" for sound playback. If you use HDMI connection this will work.
I would like to have both devices work at the same time, but I don't think there is such option.
EDIT
There is actually faster way to select it.
Double click the Volume icon on Taskbar > select Option > Properties and there is the same pull down menu selection
