It's a close fit...

Remnants of the old mosfet cooler. I dremeled off the heatpipe connection to the old northbridge cooler. It used to be all one piece.

Sweet.

Do you overclock, or was the NB just getting hot?

Edit: Nevermind. Signatures are here for a reason, aren't they?

I actually wasnt planning on using this for my main setup. I bought it for my HTPC's northbridge because it was getting way too hot. It wouldn't fit in the Silverstone HTPC case I had by about 1mm so I decided to mount it in my main rig. Stock Asus NB cooler never gave me a problem in the past.

i just resat the tuniq so its not as close to the nb cooler. much better this way. tho temps on the cpu were better with the tuniq oriented vertically.

At a guess, it would be the Asus P5b listed in his sig.

Nice work Steve. i wouldn't mind getting my HR-05 on my NB, but I've read horror stories about getting the stock one removed without killing the board.

Good job!

Nice work. I've thought about doing something with my NB, but it seems okay, so far. I've got an 80mm fan blowing on it right now. Too bad it's just a fan sitting upright ontop my GPU, literally. A good bump of the PC and it would fall over. I know, I know. I'll get around to something...soon. I don't think I'd be able to fit an HR-05 with my Tuniq Tower 120, not even close. Again, nice clean setup, Steve.

you can fit the hr-5, you simply need to orient the tuniq so that it is horizontal instead of vertical.
