View Full Version : Who are you top favorite NBA players? Why?

1. Marcus Camby(tie) - A true definition of a player who ONLY does what needs to be done on the court. Completely unselfish. Could care less if he never scores a bucket. If he needs to pass, he passes. If he needs to crash boards, he crashes boards. If he needs to defend, he defends. If he needs to shoot and no one is around for him to pass to, he'll shoot. Great mid range jump shot for a big guy. A class act on and off the court. Its a shame the Denver Nuggest treated him how they did. At least Camby is going to a better place where he is more appreciated. Look forward to seeing Camby lead the league in blocks again this year.

1. Greg Oden(tie) - Phenomenal Young Player. Great shot blocker and rebounder. More personality than 99% of the NBA. I believe Greg Oden and Lebron James are going to be the two biggest sports entertainers of our present era. Only problem Greg Oden has really is the fact he can't play defense without fouling. He'll learn though... hopefully.

3. Allen Iverson - While he might be "ghetto", he has more heart and basketball skill than just about anyone in the NBA. AI's problem though is that he always tries to take over the game if his team is down. He's completely unpredictable if he has a hot or cold night. If he has a hot night though, watch out.

4. Chris Paul - Best Point Guard in the league, bar none. He can shoot, pass, and even play formidable defense. Classy guy who plays with a ton of heart. Its impossible to dislike the guy.

For you to have Marcus Camby as your top pic and LeBron James nowhere in your choice shows your bias.:thumbdwn:

1. Brandon Roy: got to see him a lot this year... great young talent, excellent all-around player... does it all, and a good guy to boot.
2. Chris Paul: Another great all-around young player. Does it all.
3. Kobe: He's an asshole, but he's amazing to watch. The things he can do... most cannot do.
4. Dwight Howard: love watching him stuff the ball in people's faces.

Hopefully I can add Oden to the list soon. :D

gotta go with Dirk.

becasue of all the players in the NBA, he redefines what a big man can do. most men his size just bang the middle and dunk it. yipee...

he can shoot with the best of em, has an uncanny clutch shot and is a threat anywhere on the floor. no need for flashy moves to the bucket. when a 7' guy is shooting a jumper over you, hope you jumped off a chair to get high enough to block it.

however - i digress... he has no backbone when its playoff time.

:wtf:

What the heck is wrong with you people? Lebron James has taken his team to the playoff not once, but three times in his short tenure in the NBA. Kobe Bryant and all the others had a good host of people, but James did all of this himself.

LeBron is the most valuable player in the league and will be for that next 5-7 years at least. He's too good to be in my list of favorites. He's almost a gimme.

1. Steve Nash - singlehandedly made basketball fun to watch again. Brought back the running game to the NBA. Not the greatest point guard of all time, but probably the greatest passer of all time.

2. Chris Paul - reminds me of the way Jason Williams (the one from Duke who got in an accident) used to play in college

3.) Kobe Bryant - This year was kind of a downer for him, because I realized he'll never be what Michael Jordan was, but he's probably the closest thing we have to it. Is an extremely fun player to watch.

I don't like LeBron that much. Yeah, he's good, but all he does is muscle his way in. He has no finesse.

1. Kobe Bryant - Best player in the game all around
2. Chris Paul - the things he does with the ball are just ridiculous and no one else makes their entire team better than Chris
3. Lebron James - If the league ever starts calling offensive fouls on him, maybe he'll get better, but I love his court vision
4. Kevin Garnett/Paul Pierce - all heart baby. They've been through the worst of times but showed the heart of champions
5. Dwight Howard - A combination of Shaq and the Reign man. Once he get's his range up and his free-throw shots down, he'll be something special.

I don't really believe this anymore. Kobe's game is so spotty and unpredictable I can't agree with this. I know most will disagree with me, but thats how I feel.

Please explain?

He is by far the most consistent player out there given the team he has had the last 3 years.

Even this year, only after Gasol came in did he have more help but Bynum was already out and therefore Gasol was playing out of position. The team over-achieved but mainly because of Bryant's ability to raise the team's level to a different plateau.

Besides, he is the best offensive player in the league AND he can defend like a beast when he wants to/has to.

Well he's not Jordan, but if that's what you're comparing him to, no one in the league is.

I've always liked Ray Allen. I kinda lost track of the guy after the Bucks traded him to Seattle but it was great to see the Celtics win it all this year

Baron Davis? Really?

I mean sure he's fun to watch occasionally but him and Steve Francis are sort of on the same level of average number of games played a season.

Baron Davis is in a different league than Steve Francis. Steve Francis = Stephon Marbury = Ricky Davis. Baron is (should be) an all-star, the others are not.
