i just tried them out in XP... not much difference from 174.74

Oblivion: 174.74 - 73 FPS, 177.79 - 73 FPS
Crysis: 174.74 - 28.7 FPS, 177.79 - 29.0 FPS
Devil May Cry 4 - 174.74 - 82/61/102/60, 177.79 - 81/54/109/60
3dmark06: 169.01 - 13067, 177.79 - 13156

only DMC4 showed some fluctuations compared to 174.74 but it seems its not the same benchmark every time... also i dont see anything related to physx in these drivers...

EDIT: i can confirm that HDTV output works perfectly now... overscan compensation is properly saved and i dont need to reset it every time i switch to the HDTV... also now i can switch between the monitor and the HDTV as many times as i want without rebooting and the overscan settings are properly applied... ive been waiting 4 years for this :|

I am happy to report that the only issue I have had thus far with my new GTX280 has been fixed with this driver. The GPU fan speed now throttles as it should after reaching 85C+ and the fan reaching 95%.I just finished with about an hour of a ,new to me, Crysis mod and I am back to 40% fan speed. :D

I noticed a weird issue with these drivers and WOW the screen blinks a weird pattern for a moment when you start the game, or minimize it. Also the AA quality is not as good as the 175.16 its the weird edge dot bug that was around with the 169.21 drivers.

run down of specs

WinXPpro SP3
8800GTS (g92)

Here is a SS comparision.

First SS is the 175.16, Second is the 177.79beta

Look close and you will see the DOTS along the edge of the claw.

Good news. I have the same problem. I'll try them later.

I don't know what to make of these drivers. On the EVGA forum, there are more negative user comments than positive and this is a driver EVGA recommends. Think I'm going to stick with WHQL for now. Nvidia seems to be losing focus (actually lost it sometime back and haven't got it back yet) on just getting a good basic driver out that doesn't have issues of some kind. Whatever happened to Nvidia's phrase of optimizing drivers. Optimizing hell, they can't even get them to work right to begin with, let alone optimize them. And us gamers (the ones who are financing them) are the lucky ones that get to sit and do nothing but wait for them to get with the program (after we gave them our money).
