Many of us have been tring for some time to overclock the memory. Many post on it in here.
Well, here is how. :)

Just download coolbits and install the new 44.03 bets FX drivers.
It now works.

I guess I was right after all. Some flamed me when I said NV had disabled it VIA drivers. They said Bios.
I was right. ;)

Anyway I just run 3DM03 at 550/1100. My new score is in my sig.
Almost 6500. I'll break 7000 with this ultra soon. ;)

Is that stock cooling?

Just curious, does that 60 sound not supported penalize your 3dmark score? I saw some beta drivers on creative.com that were made by tom's hardware.com, and I thought that was weird but it says it's faster sound performance.

No, your 3dmark03 score is determiend by the 4 Game tests. the rest is just there.....

Yes... My card has no problem running 570/1100. "so far"
I think it has more in it. :)

I just updated my 3DM01 score also. A new best.
I see 18,000 coming soon.

keep it up (my FX is staying at its measly 500mhz core, but you go boy!)

:)

I do have a very small fan blowing on the memory heatsinks.
Just a little bit of air cooled mine down to 39 to 40c at idle. :)
Heck my auto overclocker sets my card at 570/1130. :D

BK, can you point us in the direction of that 44.xx driver? not seeing it any of my usual sources, sir.

/edit: ooops found the thread in our Det forum. my bad.

Why did they ever get rid of the flowFX, just think of nv35's at 570mhz.... oh man.

i also added a small fan on the memory heatsinks hehe.

ya thats all fine and dandy and those scores are interesting...but since you cant get that score when running at 2450x2450 w/ 16x FSAA and 8x AF...its flimsy.

take your little woossy 570/1130mhz piece of junk and go home lamer

amazing that with the new DetFX and with the
extreme overcloking capabilities of Nv30 lineup
and their tweaked AF/AA modes ,looks like NVidia have re-launched
again all their cards .. :)

i still remember one of the first detonators drivers..
there were no reason and no competition when
i got the Geforce2 GTs , and the detonators increased
all my games performance from 10%-20% percent.. :)

now i suspect we are talking about 30%-40% and even more
with the detFx... :D

very sweet! COngratulations to Nvidia.. :)

And new score. 6471 in 3DM03. :D

I agree. These new drivers and all is just like new again. :)
Much better IQ and speed.

If nvidia had these drivers ready when the FX come out it would have done a lot better.
For the most part now the 5800ultra beats the 9700.
Even with AA/AF.

EDIT: Can anyone tell me how much bandwidth I have with my
memory running at 1.13Ghz?

I agree 150%.... Just think of the NV30 with a 256bit memory bus. :afraid:

Wasn't it 19.6 GB sec for 1000Mhz and therefore will be 113% of this ? That's from memory so might be wrong.

Can you do me a favour ? Can you run 3dmark2001 with the 40.72 drivers but everything esle the same so I can compare ? The reason I would like this is because the 40.72's were fastest for a long time and I would like to see how the latest drivers compare between the DX7 games in 3dmark and the DX8 game ( nature ) to the old drivers.

That's a nice nature score by the way :)

Andy

Andy.. I would but those are very unstable on my card.
But the FX was never suppose to use them.

From the looks of THG in doom3 the 5800ultra kicks butt. :D
Even with 4x AA.

I think I now have my system 110% stable and tweaked out now.

P4 2.4ghz clocked at 3114Mhz "1.65 volt"
FSB is at 692
DDR 433 ram running 2,2,2,7
5800 ultra running 551/1100

My CPU temp under a full load never goes above 41c. :)

All I need now is a NV35 clocked at 500+/900+. :p

yeah, the high AA doesnt look better by much, i dont think i would buy nv35 for those horrible high AA performance hehe, nv30 kicks butt :)

I play everything at 1024 res. So at 1024 with 4xaa and 2 or 4x AF I'm in the sweet spot. :D

I'm sure we will see even more proformance gains as newer drivers come out. Nvidia is always finding more performance.

I knew the NV30 had a lot more in it. :)
It had the power all along to run with the 9700.
The sh!tty drivers just killed it.

EDIT: BTW... at this point I'm ot even sure if I'll buy the NV35.
For the res I run and all I really do not need it.

cant agree anymore :)
i always think if they swap the driver teams i will go for ati :) but ati seems to keep improving its driver too.
1280x1024 at 4xAA is gorgeous but my cpu is too slow for that, i am waiting to upgrade my system when doom3 is out. :D

I'm running at 1024res with 2x AA and 4x AF at the highest IQ.
It's amazing how much faster and better looking this card is now.
On most of my 3D screensavers I picked up 20+ FPS even at the highest IQ. :D :D

nice :)
i sometimes use 8xAF depends on what games i am playing.
i use 2x AA at most now, higher resolution looks much better than higher AA in lower resolution to me, 4xAA at 1024x768 usually runs as fast as 2xAA at 1280x960.

by the way , maybe this is OLd news..
(have been away from NVnews for a long time )
but it looks like the 3dmarks 2003 issues with the
Brigtness in the nature demo have been fixed..

according to this site..
