Just installed a Creative Audigy 2 that Rumcooler gave me, and it works great using my speakers, but I can't get my headset to work.

The issue is that I connect my headset to the jack in the front of my case, which is wired to my mobo. For some reason the audigy is not registering that the headphones are going in.

Any troubleshooting tips? There is no connection on the Audigy card that fits the connector for the case, though it does connect to the FP-AUDIO1 on mobo.

Thanks vims.

nvm, found a site that outlines the problem, and offers instructions on how to build a connector to fix this problem. I'm a doctor Jim, not an electrical engineer.

Welcome to the world of Creative's ****ty products. I'm stuck using the Platinum series which come with the drive bay and thus a working headphone jack up front.

Not really, just reach around and connect the headphones that way and fiddle with the speaker settings like a real man.

reason why is so expensive is because someone actually made those cables by hand.

Revs, actually the person at Perfrormance PCs made those. There is a thread at Hardforum.com where owner of performance-pcs store actually talks and takes request for custom parts etc...

Ah, that's good. TBH that's quite cheap compared to most cables. Man, some companies know how to charge. Belkin USB cables are about 15 here... crazy!
