We made a small test (3dmark Vantage) of a Radeon 4850 Crossfire System with the Catalyst 8.8 beta. We tested with a Intel Q6600 (3.8 GHz) and 4GB DDR3. The benches I've added. Look forward, the final Catalyst 8.8 can maybe a little bit better! The powerconsumption is the whole system

But there seems to be a bug with FurMark.

COD4 performance is better. At 1920x1200 all maxed with FSAA and AA i cant get it to drop below 91FPS (FPS cap??) on Creek :) would dip to 70's before.

well Crysis didn´t see much change from same for 3Dm06 didn´t show any increase and the fan hack is difficult i had to copy the originla profile and put it in fanspeed 1 and 2 at different speeds strange

3dmark Vantage score went from 6783 (cats 8.7) to 7112 (8.8 beta), though now i can't enable overdrive in the CCC (autotune button is also disabled).

i did uninstall the old ones used driver sweeper and driver cleaner and cleaned all ATI there was the i installed the 8.8´s to my dissapointment no improvment atll so i uninstalled again and re-installed then i got it up and running and i see improvments just as i posted crysis and DMC4
now i´m off to try MOH:Airborne

That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. I would always uninstall the old driver first then boot to safe mode and run driver cleaner along with cc cleaner.



Actually, having to manually uninstall and clean drivers is the stupidest thing. Proper driver installation packages should properly do the work FOR you. It's good to finally see ATI moving in this direction. It would be nice if nVidia did it. Realtek's drivers do it for you.
