I have some albums i want to convert to cd. I have the hardware setup. I just need a program to record from a album to .wav or mp3 and be able to clean the recording so it sounds good. Any suggestions?

I'm a little confused what you are asking, but for creating an audio CD from MP3 and WAV files (a cd you can play in any old stereo) I use Nero Burning Rom (http://www.nero.com/en/index.html#root)

If want a program that will take your normal audio CD's and convert them to MP3, I recommend MusicMatch Jukebox (http://www.musicmatch.com). I like this program and use it often.

I think he wants to record from a vinyl record.

I'd recommend Cool Edit 2000, it's a tremendous program worth buying. http://www.syntrillium.com/cooledit/

OH! That's a different story. Then yes Cool Edit Pro is the best way to convert analog audio to digital audio files. I use that program too very often.

I spotted this at Warp2Search this morning.

Here's (http://www.bitbenderforums.com/reviews.php?op=showcontent&id=29) a guide to converting vinyl to Mp3 format. That should give you some more details about the process.
