View Full Version : Nvidia Firewall
I noticed that the CD that came with my MB has this firewall on it, but I'm currently using Outpost. I'm just wondering if there is any thing superior with the Nvidia firewall, that I should give it a try? I would rather hear from those with experience with both, rather than just experimenting on my own.

The new Nvidia firewall isn't too bad. It's hardware based so doesn't use your CPU. I had a few issues getting it to work properly with a few apps like utorrent. They worked fine, but popped up errors, more of an annoyance.
Which motherboard is it? I'm talking about the nforce 6 series and up, nforce 4 series. Their firewall was a huge mess. I got BSoD and more. ::(:
That answers my question, because it is an Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe, which is Nforce 4. I'll just stick with OP.
from my experience with the nvidia firewall, it is a giant, and i mean GIANT, piece of ****.
that was a few years ago, maybe theyve made it better.
it used to be slow, block a lot of things that it shouldnt have, and eat up cpu cycles. and i know how to use rule based firewalls.
It used to be BSOD-rific!
