Oh well...

Its just artwork.

Judging from the thumbnail on maxconsole it doesn't look completely retarded, and that's about all that artwork is going to tell us. :p

No, I know it will be crap because the studio that is making it is fully of people who either, a) made crap games, or, b) weren't even involved in the gaming industry.

The two men responsible for the original -- Warren and Harvey -- are also not involved in any way.

I hate to hear this but seeing how FRIKING terrible! DE2 was, I have no hope for this game. In fact I hated DE2 so much I only played a few minutes worth of the demo and deleted from my HDD.

DE was one of my favorite games. How can they go from great to utter crap?

What did you expect? It's coming for next-gen it can't be so complicated as first Deus EX.

Some recent games like STALKER and The Witcher have renewed my faith in the PC platform having good complex games that aren't completely dumbed down, but console ports\cross platform games still scare me. :(

Mass Effect was surprisingly good for being a console RPG, but the RPG elements were still pretty light. Though not as light as Bioshock's, thank god.

PlayStation 4? Xbox 3?... Next gen what?

PC 2?...

Anyhow, hopefully they´ve learned from DX2, I think Warren Spector brought it up in one of his Lectures (can be found on gametrailers I think, really long, but very interesting), that alot of what they did there turned out to be mistakes.
A back to the roots typ of DX game would be sweet, but there will most likely be some dumbing down compared to the first game, could still be a sweet game all in all though.

As long as the base gameplay is decent and they continue the Deus Ex style levels that feel populated and aren't completely hostile the whole time, I'll probably play it. I loved wandering around places like Hong Kong, Paris and Hell's Kitchen. Even the enemy bases felt occupied and lived in, rather than just being endless tunnels with mindless enemies stuck in lame positions just to add difficulty. The whole game felt natural, rather than most shooters where it feels like you're playing through a game where the enemies were placed by some level designer.

Deus Ex: IW was pretty lacking in personality and overall polish, but they did at least attempt the same kind of general feel in the levels, and its one of the few things that made the game worth playing IMO.
