For the Gainward from Komplett :-

490 for the Ultra
640 for the Cool FX with watercooling.

Multiply by 1.6 for $ amount.

Can I have 5 Sir ?

ouch...

lets see...

5900ultra w/ coolfx - $1030 USD
prometeia - $620 USD

hmmm, tough choice...

either i go with the coolfx that cools the 5900 to 30C or i could get the prometeia that could chill it to -30C and with the rest of the money get a 9800pro or a 5900 ultra w/o the coolfx

damn, decisions decisions

Damn that's a lot of cash! Awfully tempting though, but I guess I won't need a upgrade for a while anyway. Unless, oh mike! :D

mmmm let me see, a graphics card for 490 (5900FX) or one that is just as fast (almost) for 345 (9800pro256MB, DDRII)?????

I know what I would go for... :) (ATI9800pro256MB) :D

I just hope the prices drop soon, almost 500 is stupid for "JUST" a graphics card......

Simon.

From Micro Direct (http://www.microdirect.co.uk)

Gainward GF FX5900 PP Ultra/1600 XP Golden Sample 8X AGP [FX5900 Ultra 256MB 2.2ns DDR DVI VIVO] + Dig. Firewire daughter card +5.1 sound card + headset 482.93 Inc. VAT

Gainward GF FX5900 PP Ultra/1200 XP Golden Sample 8X AGP [FX5900 128MB 2.2ns DDR DVI VIVO] 365.43 Inc. VAT

So it's 365 and 482 if you want firewire, sound card and a headset as well

The 1200 version only has a 400Mhz gpu rather than 450, but to be honest what's the betting that this is another case of the 4400 being able to clock up to 4600 speeds ? Especially if you put a decent P4 / AMD socket A copper heatsink on the card with artic alumina epoxy.

The non Ultra might be the thinking mans choice, especially as it has the same memory speed.

Andy

Are you sure? I thought that there were 3 different 5900U from Gainward
-1 with watercooling
-1 with firewire sound card etc
-1 Without this additional stuff (i think it's this one @ 365)

Damn you people do this same BS every time NV releases a new card. Before it gets to retail you all bitch and moan how expensive a part that no one even has in stock is. Then you quietly disappear when it is released much lower than that price. Then, not learning your lesson, do the same exact bitching when the next card is shown.

You can order it already in Uk at 650 for watercooled version and 495 for normal cooled version....... those prices are real :( :(

way to expensive for a graphics card that only slightly faster than a 9800pro (340)

fact not fiction

Simon.

That would be true except it isn't.

The 5800FX prices for Gainward are roughly the same as before it appeared on the shelves.

Because the 5800FX has a VERY limited supply.

So you first post was inaccurate then, that when the card is released the price goes down. Now you are saying except the nv30.

You aint going to be getting a 5900 Ultra for $299 anytime soon, bet on it.

Andy
