cables are the biggest scam of all time.

they usually jack the price up on USB2.0 cables. they charge $20 for the printer and then get you with a $30 USB cable. freaking ridiculous.

that's why you never buy cables from stores like staples and what not. always buy them online. and remember, cables are ridden with gimmicks.

I stopped at a Radio Shack on my way home from a business trip this week. They had a clearance table full of cables, both Monster and otherwise. They had a 6-foot Monster DVI cable. Original price: $99.99. Clearance price: $14.97. I bought it as the price was comparable to TigerDirect or ordering online + shipping. Sad thing is, Radio Shack still almost certainly made a profit on that sale.

That Monster DVI cable you purchased was not a 24-pin dual-link DVI cabe. Was it the all black one? I couldn't use it on my Dell Ultrasharp 30" LCD. I went with a Belkin Pure AV Silver Series 24-pin dual link DVI cable which works great! Belkin is also cheaper then Monster.

It's too late dan. He ignored everything we said and ordered them anyway...

No, I didn't purchase them. I ordered some from Belkin instead which are RG6 rated. Did anyone notice that the cables I listed are not even RG6 rated for HDTV? lol what a crap ass way to sell over priced coax cables.
If I was going to spent that much I would go with a Monster cable MV Quad coax cable. Shopallmonster.com can cut the length exact and offer even cheaper then what I just posted information on for 3 cables.
I know how to shop and I was only getting some suggestions and information.

If you knew how to shop you wouldn't be looking for Monster products. ;)

you could use coathangers to connect the pins and you wouldnt notice anything different in terms of display quality.

As everyone has said, Monster cables are way over rated

Any cable that costs more than $10 is over rated ($30 for speaker cables). You NEVER hear / see the difference.

Monster cables :thumbdwn: are 95% marketing and 5% BS.

For those that need bragging rights, AND believe McDonalds is health food.

Actually, I remember a blind test made to audiophiles:

Dry Cleaner shirt hangers (with properly soldered connectors) vs Monster speaker cables.
The testers could not tell the difference.
