Quick question about Infrared

Hello, I got a new laptop, and I tried installing one of the games I play in, and after installing and finding out it crashes every time I try opening it, I found out that "Microsoft eHome Infrared Transceiver" causes problems with it.

So my question is, since I can not disable it in device manager, and I can only Uninstall it...

What exactly is "Microsoft eHome Infrared Transceiver", and is it safe to uninstall?
