For some reason with these drivers the Physx codeing seems better at least a 5-8fps more than the previous ;P

Is there any software out there that takes advantage of OGL 3 at all?

opengl 3 is new, like brand new, these are first drivers to use it. so people can start developing for opengl3.

probably the only stuff that ends up using it will be 3dmax, softimage etc...

Don't forget Carmack. RAGE will probably have an OpenGL 3 mode.

Anyone ran any games with these? I'm using the 177.83 set right now on Vista 64.

Okay, been running these for a while now and no problems. However, I've uninstalled PhysX all-together, as I have no need for it.

Slippe just remember, when certain games start to crashing or not starting that means they require Physx to run properly

These are great with my 9800GTX+

I'm liking the Dynamic Contrast and Color Enhancement.

As far as I know RAGE is DirectX, I think i've read Carmack was very pleased with it.

As far as I know RAGE is DirectX, I think i've read Carmack was very pleased with it.

As far as I remember (and I can quickly find on the net), while it is true that Carmack said that D3D is now quite good, he also said that Tech 5 is being developed with OGL under Win/Mac, D3D under 360 (obviously, since it's the only choice), and Open GL ES + direct buffer writing on the PS3.

The only news about Tech 5 being developed with DX9 is from a Todd interview on a german site, but I (and several others) think that Beyond3D simply misunderstood what Todd was saying no features from DX10 will be used, which is, by the way, the same thing that Carmack said a couple of weeks before in an interview with GameInformer, where at the question "GI: Will this engine support any DX10 features?" he answer "Carmack: No, not currently. We’re not expecting to. We’re not sure if we’re going to be a Vista title or not. There will be some support benefits by being Vista only. It depends when we get the game done what the adoption has been. But it’s a OpenGL title on the PC and Mac right now, obviously D3D on the 360, and the PS3 it’s kind of an in between where it’s Open GLES but we do a lot of direct command buffer writing there. If necessary we can move the PC version over to DX10, but there’s not much strong pull for us to do that. All of the toolset is in OpenGL, I wouldn’t want to convert everything over."

Since nothing uses OGL 3.0 anyway, is there a reason for me to download nvemulate to activate it? Does activating or not activating it cause any noticeable differences?
