I currently have the AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ 2.8G Windsor CPU. Would the X2 5800+ 3.G Brisbane be worth the upgrade? It's a bit quicker and much cooler. I'm working on a very limited budget. I was also looking at Quad core AMD's. However, most of the benches I have read do not show any gains in performance in gaming due to the lower clock speeds.

If not the Brisbane, then what would be a worthy upgrade?

Any feedback would be helpful.

You could probably overclock your CPU 200Mhz without spending a dime.

Other than that, there aren't a whole lot of options. In games that don't take advantage of quad cores, the X2 isn't much different than the Phenom X4, so there isn't much point in getting one of those unless you do encoding or something.
