I see threads for warhammer, d3, wow, but not SC2?! Or is it old news already? lets talk and speculate on when the release date is even though we have no idea nor any clues to back our guesses.

We probably won't be able to play SC2 until 2010, so even though I AM really looking forward to the game...I just can't get excited until there is a real release date.

2010?

i wanted it to be this christmas :(.

i know the announcement is 1.5 years old but i never expected it to be THAT far back!

there is no official release date, but Blizzard always take their time

Take some comfort in the fact that it's been in development for a long time, and that it was announced over a year ago. I'd be willing to bet 2009 is the year for SC2. Likewise, I doubt Diablo 3 is gonna be available before 2010.

Does it really take that long to code these games or is it that they're just working on multiple things?

I think it's neither. Blizzard has always taken their sweet time and I'm sure they're very nervous about SC2 meeting expectations and replacing its predecessor as the "official" South Korean national pastime. ;)

Seriously though, I'm sure the "coding" part is for the most part completed - content and balancing is likely the primary concern now. Diablo 3 is in the same state from what we've been told by Blizzard.

Release date is 24/08/2009. For both D3 and Star Craft 2 believe it or not.

No release dates are given, but it is confirmed that SC2 will miss a winter release.

By what, though--two or three seasons?

(Only half kidding.)

I wouldn't hold out hope for anything sooner than Q409 personally. But I'd really like to be wrong. :p

true. but i read somewhere in these forums about d3 coming out then also? would blizz release two solid hardcore games in the same season?

Yes. They plan to mega hype it like the release of Revenge of the Sith. It's going to coincide with the release of World of Warcraft Collectables. Such as Frostmourne.
