The Chinese are the most unathletic race of people I've ever met in my life.
Ever played basketball against an asian? lmao, enough said. The fact that China has the most gold medals just goes to show you the Olypmics isn't a good measure of athleticism.
For a true example of United States Athletic superiority, look at Team USA basketball. They'll beat the Chinese by at least 50 point I'm predicting.. oh wait, that's right China is already eliminated cause they got spanked by Greece.
The US' a basketball country of course they will dominate. If you can beat the Chinese in table tennis then my hats will be off to you. Now, don't act like a bunch of sore losers! LOL!

Basketball is more popular in China, and they also have a league. We just ROCK!

Of course they have more golds, Both Hamms got hurt, and then they deny Visas to our other Potential Gold medalists. Team America!
Best user comment ever:
The US always counted gold medals as the standard of winning. I should know, I was born here and have watched the olympics since was a kid. This is the first time they won't win the gold medal race and not suprisingly, the first time overall medals are being used as the "mark of excellence" by our media. Those who write articles such as this, acting as though we have always judged by overall medals, should be ashamed. Those who attack the validity of the Chinese gymnasts wins should also be ashamed. Get over it...the US lost in those events and by the standards we had and the rest of the world still has for the overall winning country, we lost as well. There's nothing wrong with losing, but there is something wrong with being a sore loser who can't accept defeat with dignity.

Oh, and Table tennis is China's national sport. Basketball is not, regardless of popularity.

LOL... Why don't you aslo blame the Jamaicans for your gold medal wipeout in track&field?
Everyone knows it should be judged on silver medals alone :bleh:
China suck at being first placed losers.
This is funny, ha ha:
As a Chinese, I really feel sorry for winning too many gold medals. We should have shared some of them with Americans. Will Americans attack us by using aircraft carrier and launching cruise missiles just because you didn't win more gold medals than us? I am frightened of that.

AFAIK the tables have always been arranged as highest number of golds for positions. You are starting to sound like those people who adjust the tables for population of countries.

Ummm.... Chinese are actually incredible at basketball. I work with alot of Chinese and they have more teamwork than just about anyone I've ever played against.

We need an ultimate deathmatch event in the olympics. Each country picks their greatest warrior, AND THEY FIGHT TO THE DEATH.
No whoever won the gold in that event...that would overshadow every other event in the olympics. No one would even bother counting medals anymore.

Where are you playing? Asians, not necessarily Chinese, are pretty damn good at basketball where i'm from. No they're not all sort.
But you have to look at how the Chinese prepared for these games. This was their Bar mitzvah, their sweet sixteen, their coming out party. They trained extensively (not saying that others didn't) for these games. I heard somewhere that 7 years ago, when they were announced to hold the 08 games, they began analyzing the sports in which they could easily climb the olypmic ladder to gold and trained people specifically for them based on their natural talents and abilities. I don't know if that's true of not.
I'm just sayin'.
As for all their golds, they deserve them all, but some of the gymnastics golds like where Liukin got screwed from the possibility of winning the gold because some third world country didn't know jack about the uneven bars. Just an example.
the olympics are about being the best at the sport, i can't comment on how age plays a factor in that but rules are rules, there is an age limit, but in my opinion some of those chinese gymnists look extremely young. But on paper, their 16, oh well.

yeah i agree, there has been quite a few wtf moments in these olympics, more so than previous games, and many of which ending up in favor of the chinese. when you see ex-french judges backing the US, you know there is something wrong.

I have spent a whole lot of time in China and basketball really isn't all that popular there. They started their league in 1995. When did the US start theirs?

Of course its true. I'd imagine that any country would do the same. Britain is doing so and its already starting to pay off.

It is fun to see who has the most medals. Everyone likes a good competition. At the end of the day it really doesn't matter. What does matter is how people get those medals. In China you are put in a state run sports academy when you are shown to have the slightest bit of talent for a particular sport. From that time on the state handles your whole life. You live to perform for the glory of the state. When you get to the Olympics you are not only representing your countrymen. You are representing the communist party and by proxy the values of communism.
In America and the rest of the free world you enter into a particular sport because you are interested in it. From that time on you are on your own. The state has nothing to do with you. You are free and that is the important part of this. Freedom
BTW I'm surprised gold farming isn't a Olympic even. They excel at gold farming. Oh wait it is an even. Look at the medals table. :D They just need to fit WoW in there some how.
