Hello guys, I have been thinking about getting TWO 3008WFP monitors. I just came into some extra money and I need to make a decision. Or I could upgrade my current pc to
3X GTX280's, 790i and ddr3 ram. And also I just graduated from OHIO STATE UNIV. I work for Nationwide as a database programmer, so it would be real nice to have those monitors. But I can't get both my fiancÚ would kill me. Please comment !!

I'd go with the monitors. Honestly, your current hardware will last you a while longer; my 8800GTX still runs most games very well on my 3007, so triple SLI is massive overkill (although I just ordered at GTX280). As a software engineer (I do systems and integration design and programming), you'll want the extra screen real estate. Plus, the monitors are deductible as a business expense!

How about sell the GX2 cards you have now, keep your motherboard and ram, buy 2 GTX 280s and the 2 monitors?

The 790i and DDR3 won't do anything at all for your performance and Tri SLI is a waste because the scaling is pretty bad. You get maybe 20% improvement out of the third card. SLI scaling seems pretty decent though.

I have the Dell 30" 3007 Series monitor and I like it. Why the hell would I waste more money on the 3008 when it's $1,800 or higher. Complete waste of time and money go with a 3007 it's still nice and runs even my 8800 Ultras in SLI perfectly!
The 3007 runs aorund $1,200 or less each. Go on ebay and there even less. I hope you pocket the rest and spend it on other things besides $4,000 in monitors...LMAO!!!!

The 3007 has revised rich colors and I love it.! I wouldn't waste a dime on the 3008 Series. Now if you're smart with you're money get two 3007 monitors and better internal hardware. Why waste a good thing...like I said before the human eye can only see so many colors and frames per second.
Unless you can sell off some of you're old hardware on ebay or something to cover the cost it won't be worth it! If you work for that company, make their cheap asses pay for it! :D
