Today both Crytek and Electronic Arts are extremely happy to announce to the community that Crysis Warhead and Crysis Wars (the multiplayer package included with Warhead) have gone gold! Both will ship to stores on September 12th in Europe and September 16th in North America.

For those of you who want to reserve your pre-order copy now, simply visit your favourite games retailer and place your order!

I was really mad at Crytek when they announced this and said no more patches for Crysis, which meant no more anything...fixes, optimizations, maps, etc.

But now I feel compelled to get this... :D

(1) Crytek cannot afford to continually patch a game if it did not sell as well as expected. Crytek spent a lot of money for this PC title, something that is unheard of.

(2) EA (i.e.-the publisher) controls patches, and if/when they get released usually.

They could at least retrofit the optimizations from Warhead into Crysis.

I wonder how much better it's really going to run.
