well the g5 in a wired version of the g7 which I have, and I will have it for two years this November. I think that the g5 will Have an even longer lifespan because it doesn't have to depend on battery's which will slowly die. I has a nice tilt wheel, adjustable dpi (and normal at that, not that crazy 4000 in some newer mice which has no purpose what so ever.) the thumb button is very as I use mouse 3 as reload and the middle mouse button in almost impossible to push under fire. the g5 also has the adjustable weights.
Either way enjoy it and may you get many years of use out of it.

Yeah seems like a really good light mouse, i have used one in the past at a LAN party .. at the moment im using a wireless logitech mediaplay, the thing weighs a tone lol.

The keyboard i bought because of the back lit buttons & Six programmable G-keys, i like to play AoC in the dark and cant see a thing with my current keyboard & im hoping to configure the G-keys to execute some combos when i get to higher lvl's.

I'd love to get a G15, but they're flaky when it comes to using them with KVM switches.

what kind do you use?

A cheap-o 2-port one that only does USB 1.1. A G15 would certainly work with a powered KVM, but those can be pretty expensive, more than the actual keyboard itself. Not worth it, IMO.

think it would work through a powered ps/2 kvm switch?

They both came yesterday, had a good gaming session last night .... i must say im well impresses, i can now play in the pitch black and still see my keys perfectly :D ... and the mouse is awesome, really precise, light has a nice feel to is and is a really nice shape, fits in my had really nice. :D

Just one thing, is there anyway to make the G5 run at the full 2000dpi from boot/re-start? ..... every time i boot up or re-start i have to manually chance to from 800dpi to 2000dpi, anything i can do?

well I'm using a g7 which is a wireless g5 (and look at pic 6 on it at newegg.com. I think thats a little odd.) and its native res in 400, 800 and 2000. so as soon as you boot up just hit the dpi buttons to get to 2000.

So there's no setting to change in setpoint that can make it boot at 2000dpi?

EDIT: i could always just turn the mouse pointer speed up through windows. :P

the Keyboard is a pain in the ass, I cant play Fear because of it.... It causes huge issues in the preformance. who knows the damage its poor drivers are causeing insiede of my baby,,,,

Other than that its a cool keybard. the screen can be handy.
