(nana2)Past 4AM in the morning and I'm glad I stayed up. Awesome close game but they could have done way better.

The 1992 team would have won by way more than 11 points.

Looks like the best player in the world turned it on in the 4th quarter when things appeared to be in some doubt...

BTW, the Blazers get Rudy Fernandez this fall!! Woohoo!

Wow are you serious? That guy played amazing last night. Blazers are going to be a tough team to beat this year.

that rainbow three he hit after like a whole series of various crossover dribbles was sick.

Our general manager, Kevin Pritchard, is amazing. He engineered the Roy and Aldridge deals, and locked up Rudy Fernandez as well. We've been waiting for him and Oden all summer... it's almost go time. (nana2)

The 1992 Team never played against a team that even remotely played as well as Spain did last night. There are high school teams better than the competition that the 1992 team played against. So you can't really make assumptions like that when the 1992 never really proved themselves at all. Thats why I choose the 2008 Redeem team. They are proven, unlike the "dream team".

With that said. Spain really did play AMAZING last night. Everything they did seemed to work. They had a very very on game. Very talented team with perhaps the best teamwork I've seen of ANY team in my life. It could have been they just had an "on" game, but I was quite impressed. Pau Gasol, Marc Gasol, Ruby Fernandez, Ricky Rubio, Navaro(going by memory, i know i spelled this wrong) are all either All Star caliber or future all star caliber. Ricky Rubio hussles more than any player I've ever seen(being 17 could be why...). He will be a force in the future.

Spain is already whining about the officiating. Actually, both sides are. In any case, who cares, but here are some pretty blatant travels that weren't called on the US team.

in some streatches of play, people were flying all over the place, and nothing was called.

Hypothetically Canada could send a team to the Olympics... hypothetically.

Lebron never gets called for a travel or charges in the NBA. When he does, he will find life a little more difficult than he does currently.

How else do you think the Cavs have beaten the Wizards the last several years. Lebron notching up the frequent traveler miles all over the place.

Those travelling non calls are disgusting lol.

Anyway, congrats 2008 Redeemed team. The 1992 Dream Team is still way better though.

rofl some of those guys aren't even starters in the NBA and you're calling them all stars?

You are really stretching it. The 2008 team is the best USA basketball has been in a while, but doesn't even come close to touching the dream team.

In all honesty. I think the game had more of the opposite problem. They were calling entirely too many calls. Small brushes against each other would get you a foul.

I think that the west is really stepping up this year. Basketball is going to be fun to watch this year.

I won't get into the argument of whether the 1992 Dream Team is greater than the 2008 Redeem Team. But I agree with Tyger in that the 1992 Dream Team played against a bunch of school girls. I agree with the statement in that the 1992 Team, though full of legendary players, were pretty much untested in the Olympics.

Competition have ramped up significantly since 1992, and the Dream Team did not face a team even remotely close to 2008 Spain.

I think the 2008 team should get credit where credits due.

The guy's only 17... very impressive to be playing at that level as a 17 year old. I was riding the bench on my HS team at that age... :bleh:

Lies. You were a fat out of shape, pimple-riddled, kid that the coach kept on the team as a sidekick.
