View Full Version : 29.42s Vs most of the 30.xx and 40.xx series on the geforce 3

After much benchmarking it appears to me that if you take drivers beyond the 29.42s (with the exception of the 30.82s which are very similar) you are losing performance on a geforce 3.

The only thing that the newer drivers seem to give a geforce 3 is increased pixel and advanced pixel shader performance. However, the Geforce 3 is limited enough that youll likely be turning those pixel shader options off in order to run at a decent framerate.

anyone else seeing this?

Losing performance IN WHAT?

Losing performance is a remarkably stupid phrase. A slower average framerate, mkay, that's one thing, but if the minimum framerate is much higher, even if the maximum framerate is lower, that driver is better.

Im getting on average 7fps lower on both maximum and 5 on minimum framerates. Some are as much as 10fps lower.

games mainly and 3dmark 2001se.

3dmark2001se is where i can see the increase in pixel shaders while the fps in all other areas drop.
