uninstall detenator drivers annoying in XP

I have the hardest time uninstalling one detanator drivers and installing another. I'm under XP, and after I uninstall the detenator drivers from Add/Remove Programs and restart, XP automatically installs drivers for "New Hardware" it found. Then when I run new detenator drivers, It always tells me "Existing detenator drivers have been found, continue, yes, exit, no.. yada yada"

I have also tried removing the drivers from adaptor options in settings. Same thing.

When you use add/remove programs, make sure you do it in safe mode. In safe mode, no vendor-specific drivers are loaded all files that would normally be in use will be removed.
