Samsung 2693HM

My local Best Buy had them @ $570, clearance sale price $398, rang up @ $341 and we had a discount that dropped it to $315

If you're in the right place at the right time with Best Buy, you can score some pretty awesome deals. Got my Dell E248 for $298, and a 1 TB Hitachi external hard drive (that I pulled out of its case) for $120.

Enjoy the new monitor.

I'm pretty much planning on replaying most of the games in my library... It's like a whole new experience :D

Should keep me busy for a couple of months

I was honestly quite surprised at the difference between 1920x1200 and 1680x1050. It is a whole new experience. HL2, Bioshock, GRID, Lost Planet - all look absolutely spectacular. The best part is the GTX 280 has enough horsepower to run all these games smoothly at that resolution.

I think I am going to pick one up today!
Ive been gaming on my old 21"CRT (with redish blacks) for too long.
I called and they are holding one for me and it shows a $348 price...how are you guys getting the extra discount?
Thanks

PS I just bought it! They didnt discount anything else though....now on to testing if I like LCD or not.

I'm not sure what my wife used to get the extra discount.... I think it was her Best Buy rewards club card.

As for the picture, after a few minor tweaks to brightness and contrast I set the Digital Vibrance to 10 and I couldn't be happier with the picture. Already played through Crysis again, which is just amazing at 1920x1200 with everything on high, and HL2 which is also amazing @ 1920x1200 with AA and AF maxed. Stalker is next :D

Did you make sure the switch in the back next to where the cord plugs into the monitor is switched to on before you pressed the power button on the front panel?

I freaked out for a minute when my monitor wouldn't turn on and then after reading the manual clicked that switch and it worked

LOL in my case it was the opposite I did the switch on the back but forgot that it had a front panel!

It is really difficult to see the front panel buttons but I do like the easy touch feature

jcrox, would you please comment on the dot pitch, I can't see it listed in the specs:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001264&Tpk=Samsung%202693HM

Is it a tight clear image? Any ghosting or rainbowing in games?

Thanks,

Vanz
