Is a Killer NIC card worth the price? I'm guessing no...but if it can help lower my ping 10 to 20 ms, it will be worth it.

also, fwiw, PCI doesnt have enough bandwidth for full gigabit. but that wont matter tbh. just so when ppl start saying that, you dont worry. :)

Really? PCI has 133Mbyte per second bandwidth.

Gigabit = 128Mbyte.

ah ****. youre right. i was thinking of something else, cause i remember having a similar discussion.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peripheral_Component_Interconnect
PCI = 133 MB/s (theoretical)

gigabit = 1000000000 b/s = 125000000 B/s = 122070 KB/s = 119.2 MB/s

actual bandwidth of PCI is about 128 MB/s (according to some sources), so yea, it can handle it if it's workin at near full capacity. my bad :o

The few people that I've known that have tried those things have had nothing but problems with them. I'd only buy it if you're 100% sure you can return it and get your money back.
