I know, the penalty for Lewis was ok. DT is ok for that T1 incident.
But spinning out your main title contender with a unfair move like Massa did, deserves more than just a DT.
"We were a bit surprised that Lewis was given a penalty in respect of the first corner incident, simply because we've all seen similar first corner incidents that triggered no such penalty," he said. "Drivers miss braking points, they run wide; these things happen."
Ron Dennis' comments sum this up pretty good. This type of incident happens in almost every race during the first turn with total mayhem in a lot of races. It's the first time ever, in 10 years of watching F1 races that I've seen such a penalty imposed. If anyone has any info of this happening before, feel free to share...

It doesn't need to be penalized, still a DT is ok but hard.
The disappointing thing IMO is, that Massa got the same penalty for a much harder move that was crucial for the race.
This is FIA at its best. Mild penalties for Ferrari. For McLaren Mercedes on the other hand... well you know :thumbdwn:

Clearly according to some people here Lewis should have stopped his car, got out and had a cup of tea lasting no less than 7 minutes before he started chasing again.

Bourdais got a 25s penalty because Massa tried to drive through him... Massa is now 7th with 2 points. Ridiculous :(

Just saw the race and while I think it is a little unjust that Massa got the same penalty as Hamilton, they both did deserve penalties.
More than anything I am so dissapointed in Hamilton's stupidity. If he keeps doing stupid things like that he might as well kiss another Championship goodbye. He should have won last years but threw it away but everyone understood that rookies make mistakes as well as the team themselves making errors. Well he's not a rookie anymore but he's driving like one. You can have all the talent in the world but if you don't know how to keep control of your head you'll never win anything. Hamilton's on his way to becoming like all other talented British sportsmen, a first class bottler. You'd have thought with the great Olympic performance our other sportsmen would've learned something!
Seriously peaved.

Lewis didn't get the penalty for the incident with Massa, he got the penalty for the incident where he dive bombed Kimi.
A drive through is sufficient. For both incidents.
I can't believe we are now punishing drivers for botching a pass. Crazy. But if thats what we are now doing then I want to see this applied EVERY time in the future.
But the penalty against Bourdais was even more stupid. He only moved over once to his right. He even put his right wheels on the grass. What more could of he done? My god.

Yeah, Hamilton was stupid for attempting that pass. He didn't need to.
I've just watched it and theres no way it deserves a penalty though. Its aggressive. But he leaves Kimi room. Kimi overreacted I think. There was room to spare between the two of them. Kimi didn't need to run off the road.
