I have read some of the forum posts that suggest evaluating your VGA by framerates in games instead going by 3DMark score. Since I have this bottlenecking problem with my ZOTAC 8800GT (look for my post "ZOTAC 8800 GT weak performance") I was wondering how can you tell framerates in games ? Is there any benchmark software you run that includes parts of games, keys combination you access inside games or game console interface? I was told to OC my CPU to get better 8800 performance and I want to go by frame rates this time so... How can I check that ?? Thanks.

3DMark does use frame rates. It just gives you a score at the end, too. Other good bench marks are the Crysis BM, the Lost Planet BM and the FEAR BM. If you just want to see your FPS in game, use FRAPS :).

Crysis benchmark tool

Also setup Rivatuner to record a graph of the fps

Try some Physx enabled benchmarks aswell, The performance hit shouldn't be as much.
And I'm interested to see the results.
