iTunes 8: What's New? (http://www.apple.com/itunes/whatsnew/)
iTunes 8.0 was released today. Seems there isn't much talk of it anywhere. I'm guessing no one knows yet. I read it on TweakGuides and installed it. So far, I find it much faster in CoverFlow than iTunes 7. The new Visualizer is great too! Nice 3D effects. I'm not too crazy about the new Grid View, but it's useful for Movies. The biggest feature seems to be HD support, though the shows in HD are only 720p, but for 1 dollar more an episode, it's a huge leap in quality. LOST is available in HD, as well as Californication and others. It won't be long until the 720p and 1080p movies start popping up. Now if only there was a way to encode Blu-ray films into 1080p for iTunes, that would be sweet!
NBC is back on iTunes with HD TV Shows. Check out the first episode of Heroes: Season 2 for FREE in HD. It's only 720p, but better than DVD!

Personally i don't care about itunes right now, what i want to know is if the new Iphone firmware is going to fix at least some of the problems.

I hate iTunes. It's a piece of craptacular bloatware. I hate how the music you buy is locked as well. It just encourages people to decode it and share it.

iTunes on Windows is just plain terrible. On the Mac however, it's a Godsend. I like the new visualization, but it's not enough to make iTunes my default music player.
I do like the new iPods though, very crafty. I'll take a blue 16GB please! :D

I never buy music online. The whole idea of buying music or movies online seems incredibly stupid to me. You can't ever resell it (even though you get ripped off when doing so, but still...you can't). I import all my CDs in Apple Lossless. There isn't a better Jukebox than iTunes. It's user friendly and does everything I need it to. I was hoping for a new interface for iTunes 8, but oh well...maybe version 9 will have a new look.

I never buy music online either, but I wish that iTunes would at least TRY to download album art for my MP3s. I hate that I have to do it myself each time.

I hate how the album art keeps changing. Sometimes it will not find the correct album art and other times it will. Very annoying.

You've had the album art to change? Wow. iTunes just never finds my album art and it won't even try lol. Isn't it just limited to the iTunes music store or something? MediaMonkey does a great job collaborating with Amazon and gets most of my album art.

It doesn't change, but when I installed iTunes 8 I removed everything from my Library and added it again and it found different album art and I can't get it to find some of them at all now and others are incorrect. It doesn't find most of my Johnny Cash concept albums which it did in iTunes 7.
It still refuses to find the artwork for In Rainbows by Radiohead. All the names, dates and so on is matched to the iTunes store but still no go. Annoying!!

I wish to God someone would build stable windows binaries for Amarok. I really miss it, and its hands down my fav. music player.

Google images is your friend. Select all the songs, right click, get info. Find 500x500 image which is usually one of the first results. Drag and drop it into the artwork box and click OK. I've had to do this a bunch of a lot of indie albums iTunes doesn't have or doesn't get right.
Downloading iTunes 8 my self now.
Edit: Coverflow speed seems to be improved. It was pretty sluggish for the first few seconds in 7, now its responsive from the get-go. Genius does an okay job of making playlists, but Last.FM and Pandora are still better at pairing songs imo.
This one of the few pieces of software that I have to say SUCKS SH!T.

I installed iTunes 8 yesterday and so far so good. Seems a bit more responsive than 7 was.
And the Genius playlist creator is a nice feature, even though it does the same thing as MusicIP did....only less configurable (ie not at all....just does it's thing). But it's built in, and I like that.
I've never had all these problems everybody complains about.
And since I have an ipod with applications and the like, I don't have really any alternative. Suits me just fine.

I don't like the images being in the music files unless I've scanned them myself or found a really good HQ one online.

Ok, iTunes 8 is the biggest POS Apple on Windows software EVAR. Ever since I upgraded, if I plug my iPod up, my computer loses network connectivity or I get a BSOD. WTF Apple? Literally, my little network icon at the bottom right goes to disconnected!
Guess I may have to convert all of my music to MediaMonkey and not use iTunes anymore. What a pain . . .

Good Luck. I just ditched iTunes in favour of Winamp. Wasn't fun at all. ::(:

They released an update a few days ago that addresses the Vista BSOD problem
