Going to build a new system for my wife to replace her aging system and thought maybe I'd try taking her down the Phenom route with the XFX 750a with the on board Geforce 8200 graphics card.

She currently has an EVGA 7800GT CO in her system, but I can't find any useful reviews of the performance of the 8200. She doesn't play anything graphically intensive - maybe Sims 2 or CSI tops. I wonder if the 7800GT should migrate over or if the on board will be fast enough?

Heres a review of the board http://www.motherboards.org/reviews/motherboards/1799_2.html can't find any games with it but 3D Mark 2006 is twice as fast on the intergrated 8200 Vs a single 7800GT same in 2005 also. So thus far it seems better...

Yeah, that's really the thing - no gaming benchmarks ... looks like it's not too bad a choice for her overall, though. Thanks!

I looked at that review and it cant be correct.......no way in hades an 8200 will beat a 7800gt at anything. The gaming results say it can play COD4 at up to 1024 res fairly well, whereas a 7800gt should eat that res up.My nephew plays COD4 with his single 7900gt at 1600x1200.I suppose the cpu will play a factor as well but even if onboard isnt up to snuff just pop the 7800 back in.10,500 is unbelievably high for onboard anything;)
