I read several threads on the steam forums where this question was asked several times without an answer. However there was nothing in the steam EULA about it.

The only reason I would ever need to completely reinstall on steam would be a hd failure anyways. I know that doesn't answer the question thou..

1 day and 4 hours for Europe. That's about 5 hours before the morning of the 19th, when we will have it in shops... By the time it finishes downloading, the shops will be open... Great job Valve... :headexplode: I might have purchased it if it was actually unlocked on the 18th...

I think it was about 7GB. Crysis wars (MP) is like another 7GB.

Mine said 6280mb or something close to that, downloaded pretty quick and is updating now.

I am glad you said that Grey, I thought maybe I was loosing it as the last time I checked the dl it was over 50%, but came back an hour later and it said updating @25%.

The update must be huge as I have been dl @ over 600k for at least 30 minutes.

I don't think it is required for the SP, but after the second patch the MP required it on the first one IIRC.

I am glad the installer didn't crap out and it launched without any problems. @dreamingawake if you are still having issues close steam and try deleting your client regestry.blob file.

It will be recreated when you start steam, but your login info will be lost so make sure you know your pass.

i was thinking the error could be related to a virtual device ?? anyway
i've disabled it and will try again.

so strange... i usually never see errors. -i forgot what the specific
error was, i was so mad i closed the window without thinking
to take a screenshot :( but it was definitely a Steam related error..

and it didn't even do that the 1st time it crashed.

Just to let you know I thought it was hung up when I first launched, but after about 3 minutes the punkbuster screen came up.

Warhead started updating when I verified the cache. I never play a game until I verify the cache.

Anyways, I didn't install GameSpy...I hit Cancel and it hasn't asked me since.
