Anyone else notice in the Crysis vs. Warhead comparisons that Warhead seems to have no shading on anything? Its like everything has full brightness for some reason...

Also, object motion blur doesn't work on Enthusiast settings in DX9, you have to manually set r_MotionBlur = 5 for it to function.

Wow, I hadn't noticed that. Personally I like the shading in the original Crysis a lot more. But then again, Warhead runs a lot smoother on my computer than the original did. It's interesting to compare the screenshots though.

Looks like they screwed up the lighting in Warhead :( that explains why it is running faster ...

I don't know if they screwed it up. They implemented the new Global Ambient Lighting system. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. Personally, I enjoy the way warhead looks.

Also, any explanation on how that site was able to render the shots independently in Warhead and Crysis?

I think it's a time of day thing. It's really hard to compare those two games.
And we're talking about PC Games, keep that in mind, those guys are... well, **** :o

No notable differences tbh, they both look the same and DX9 runs better.

Someone should take the Crysis ini and throw it in Warhead.

Looks like they screwed up the lighting in Warhead :( that explains why it is running faster ...

It's just a different TOD setting, nothing else. I'm sure there will be plenty of mods that will change it, just like there are for Crysis.

I for one am glad there is little to know difference as I can run DX9 @ 1920x1200 enthusiast but if I run DX10 mode setting any option, even just 1, no matter which one it is I set above mainstream and I have a 3-5 fps slide show.

DX10 Mainstream = 60 fps pegged
DX10 Mainstream + 1 gamer setting = crap

that comparison is pointless:
point one it come directly from crytek, (like all other comparison shown) how the magazine states
point two how can you compare crysis vs warhead if that scene doesn't exist in crysis ?

warhead is far away from crysis (not that this is bad if it run smoother)

Only difference i can see is thats a bit lighter than it was before so some extra detail can be seen now...nice upgraded engine, NOT!

guys, for those of you saying it doesn't look as good as Crysis I don't know what
you're talking about.

maybe you're not playing at high enough settings because Warhead looks much
better than Crysis imo.

i'm playing at 1680x1050 with 2xaa and everything maxed, and it's super smooth
and looks wayy better than Crysis. (in dx10 btw)

the textures are much more detailed !! -the new lighting system is quite different
from Crysis, but i'm sure with some mods we can get it more realistic looking !

:D I'm getting such great frames, but still this game makes me want another 280 !(nana2)
