Looks like Sony thinks they have a hit on their hands, so much that they have been sending out surveys to see if they can get away with a monthly fee to play. I guess the free utopia of psn is slowly crumbling.

If it is a MMO whats the big deal? Not like you are required to buy MAG to play your other games online.

I thought MAG was always suppose to be a MMO type game and would require a monthly/yearly fee.

I honestly get worried when an MMOPRG doesn't cost monthly or yearly. Without a steady income you'll see few updates and stable servers.

I can understand FPS and other free multiplayer. It's a much more simple affair.

I dont recall it being an MMO, it only supports 256 players as I recall right? Thats not all that massive, and I dont recall anything about it being persistant. Not a whole lot of info about it though, who knows.

Depends on the particulars of the game on whether I agree with this... what I will say is that this means nothing when it comes to PSN, which is still free.

If anything that stupid Qore business is what annoys me... $2.99 a month for a "magazine" which is basically only useful to get demos early. Demos increase sales you silly publishers, you shouldn't make me beg for them.

There are a significant number of mmos that do not have a monthly fee http://www.onrpg.com/

I'm going to agree with Ninja Prime, 256 players does not make a mmo.

But are any of them good? They don't have to be good, they are free, and free is better than good.

No its not. I rather pay to play a good MMO then deal with those boring free MMOs.

Yes, but you have money to burn.

I only spend money when its worth it, and if a MMO is good Im willing to pay for it (most payed ones are better then free ones).

You'd force yourself to play something just because it's free?

Do you live in a cardboard box? Do you by any chance pirate your games? Sorry, your logic is confusing me a bit...

Thanks to Wow, a good MMO needs to have money pumped into it if it has any chance of surviving.
