The PS3 is getting a follow up to the Kings Field series (specifically the PS2 version). The game takes place in a large open world and is suppose to offer alot more open of a world then previous games of the genre. It is even said by the director that you don't even have to accomplish the main task of the game (to awaken a sleeping king) rather you can just choose not to, its unknown if you can complete the game without doing so though.

Not many shots have been released yet but here are acouple, it is said that it will be playable at TGS next week though! :D

What a dumb thing to say. Why would you hope a game not get released outside of Japan when you have no information on it? With a reaction like that you would think its because those screencaps were of the normal cutesy, big eye or transvestite looking male characters with a buckle up suite on but it has a western developed look to it.:headexplode:

If its anything like a new The Elder Scrolls game it could be pretty cool.

OMG OMG OMG! I will buy another PS3 just for this game. I was a HUGE fan of Kings Field on PS1. It is one of my top 5 games of all time.

The game was dark and slow paced so if you are not into that then don't even bother with this series.

King's Field is one of those games I really wish I could play to this day. It was in slow motion 90% of the time though, so it was pretty much unplayable. I give props to anyone who actually managed to get through that game without strangling themselves with their controller cable. Its hard to believe that the standards for game speed were so incredibly low when the first fully-3D games were made. I think the game ran at about 10-15fps in most areas and 60+ in others.

Seemed like an awesome game though. I did put quite a bit of time into it. It is the only Playstation game I ever purchased and I still have it.

Here is the original King's Field from 1995...

Better controls (Mouse or at least analog stick support) and a better frame rate would have made this game timeless.

If you have the disc, a PSX emu might be able to speed it up. ;)

It definitely looks like a game made to appeal to a western audience as well.

Man that brings back memories :)
I was also quite annoyed by the slow turning and movement in the game but after a while I just got used to it and really enjoyed the game for what it is.

Kings Field 4 on the ps2 was the same but I liked it just the same. Ive finished both of them :)
