I got Crysis last xmas but shelved it until I felt like I could play it with a decent system, well yesterday I finally bought a decent system (should arrive wed, see below)...

So I'm finally ready to boot this game up and was hoping someone could give me a hand on what mod's/config to run. From looking around here an dother sites, I'm thing of running this config:
http://www.crymod.com/thread.php?threadid=31242

And this mod:
http://crymod.com/filebase.php?fileid=763

This a decent place to start, Yes/no? Main goal would be to play the game at 1900x1200 at 30+fps with best possible eye candy... I will probably be sticking with WinXP as that's what my work still uses...

Thanks, I'll get to Warhead eventually...

ps. This looks like a pretty good place to get stuff, recommend any others:

I have a single 260 and that will probably work fine. Since the natural mod changes the time of day settings it might or might not be nessesary since the game already looks really nice with that config file you linked. But you'll be fine either way.

What no love for a Crysis noob??

How about ccc 2.21 or Rygel's texture pack,

http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=117949

which mod/texture packs look/run the best in your opinion? I'd like to have all the mods and texture packs downloaded before my new parts arrive if possible... :)

rygel texture pack sucks... it only cost a shltload of extra fps and only adds photoshop sharpening to the textures. The textures are already good in crysis, especially with the sweet normals they use... Try to aim for a really nice custom config with a different TOD than stock. Like the xconfig or mster config, that's all you'd ever need.

Okay, thanks Soetdjuret, there was a poll here awhile back, where it looked like most chose ccc 2.21 over mster config... I guess I'll try ccc 2.21 and natural mod, or would these two conflict?

btw could you please post your config Soetdjuret, or let me know which one(s) you're using, I like your screenshots... do u actually play with those settings or are they for just taking pics...

Thanks,

Vanz

ofcourse i do... but u gotta have a fast system. SLI and so. I use mster config or the xconfig. I like them better than CCC or natural.

The only thing you need is Natural Mod (waaaaaay better and more, uhm, natural than those two mentioned previously) and Advanced A.I mod.

It's pretty good, but it makes everything too bright and pale, kinda desaturated... When you get your 260's in SLI you don't have to think about performance. Then i would recomend you this config for the best visuals: http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=1790079#post1790079

Happy gaming! and when youre done installing your new cards, let me know how it runs :o
