View Full Version : How will we tell the new 5600U from the old?
I'm looking seriously at the 5600U and the 9600P. Will all 5600U sold from now on be the newer, faster versions?
I think what will really put it over the top for me is a 256mb 5600U using the new chip.
By looking at the card there is no way to you can tell, you will have to look at the specs like 700MHz = 11.2GB/sec while the new one has 800MHz = 12.8GB/sec. CUrrently there are no revision out yet so all current FX5600 Ultras are old revisions.

Look at the clock speed and you should be able to tell.
The new gfFX5600Ultra is 400/400, the old one is 350/350.
So, are they going to mark up the price of the new ones and still call it an "Ultra" or something else?

You can tell by the shape of the core... There is a heatspreader on the new 5600 that wasn't on the old core.
