View Full Version : XFX 780i BIOS setting meanings?

It's been a long time since I've put together my own system and there's a lot of new settings I'm not familiar with in the BIOS.

Below is a list of settings I don't know what to set at:

System BIOS Cacheable? Should this be set to ENABLE?

NvMem memory test? I think this is an extra test done on the memory. Should it be enabled?

Limit CPUID MaxVal? Enabling sets CPUID MaxVal to 3 (should be disabled for WinXP).... Should I enable this since I use Vista?

Intel SpeedStep? I have no clue what this is...enable it?

CPU Thermal Control? I suspect it's as it implies...that the CPU will be limited if it gets too hot, am I correct? It's a bit confusing because the next option is to force the CPU to run slower on low load conditions.

Execute Disable Bit? Again, I have no clue what this is...enable it?

PCI/VGA Palette Snoop? Reminds me of the old setting for AGP slots. Keep it disabled?

PCI/Latency + imer(cmk) should be set to 32? Any idea what this is?

Thanks for any and all help you can give with this :)

I found an XFX tech that answered these questions.

Thanks anyway :)
