Mandrake9.1 driver install not working as user

I installed the nvidia drivers and x starts fine as root but when I log in as user and sratx, it chrashes and kicks me out to prompt. I've tried re-installing and same thing happens. Help me please.

I have a athlonxp2400
FIC nforce 2 mobo
Geforce ti 4200

I am atteching my log file if that will help.

Any ideas please. I need help. Real frustrating. I've played with linux b4, and had troubles with the nv drivers. I like the new installer. Seemed to work fine, edited the config and starts x as root fine but not as user, I get the nvidia splash screen the get kicked out. PLEASE someone help.

Anyone out ther wanna gimme some feadback. Tell me I'm an idiot or something, just anything would make me think I have hope. I want to use linux, but I need openGL to stay with it, since I'm hooked on Quake3. I won't even mind if you tell me to get a different distro. Just post something.
