Official ATI Hotfix drivers for Far Cry 2 now available!

ATI just released a hotfix driver (http://support.ati.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=894&task=knowledge&questionID=38664) that improves single card and crossfire performance on Far Cry 2.

Fudzilla (http://www.fudzilla.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=9992&Itemid=1) also reports that Far Cry 2 supports DX10.1.

WOW for the ATI. The game is not even out and we already have hotfix driver.
I remember some NVIDIA enthusiast warning that with ATI it takes long time before they get drivers for the new games, it sure doesn't look like.

Awesome for the Ubisoft for the DX10.1 support, they sure own one to ATI after the Assassin's Creed DX10.1 support removal.

Thanks for the alert. I've been enjoying AoC with my X2, all enabled and HQ with 12xCFAA|16xAF @ 1920x. Looks like Far Cry 2 will be next.

I wouldn't install these drivers if you're only running a single GPU:

The internal serial number of the Hotfix is 8.541-081009a. It seems to be a modified Catalyst 8.10 (8.541-080923a). With a HD 4870 the driver is causing problems in Far Cry 2 running on Windows Vista x64 - aberrations and lags prevent the record of useful results. We experienced the same problems with another model of the graphics card. The Radeon HD 4870 X2 on the other hand was running smooth.

A first test by Hardocp with FarCry 2. All single cards perform very well. (Even the 4850 considering the pricerange)

Unfortunately the hotfix they used doesn't seem to work for the 4870X2 which barely scales at all, and I have difficulty believing the testers did it wrong.
