A lot of what the IGN review complains about sounds awesome to me... you actually have to walk the wilderness or drive to get where you're going? How horrid! /sarcasm.

Don't all review sites just copy/paste reviews for every platform? So I don't really think it matters...

Though it makes sense, I don't think a few PC elitists member of this forum will listen. Anything that has to do with consoles must be purged, cleansed, and burned.

Nevermind that cross platform games usually contain the same experience, regardless what one plays the game on.

Yes, it matters. Dead Space prime example with mouse control a huge issue.

Hmmm... PC gets quick saves, and console only gets dedicated save stations...

Non biased? Last time I watched one of his reviews he was digging so hard for comedic material that the review was hardly a review, just a slam fest.

Whats with all the bad review over travel? I guess if you are in a hurry to beat the game for a review it might be annoying, but I'm looking forward to it. I found this comment on the gamespy review amusing:

FYI, I played the game, totally disagree with this review. Im a pc-gamer, and love the long interactive distances. pfff you guys obviously play to much consoles.

The reviews mention that there is a constantly repeating pattern of being chased by trucks, shooting the trucks, repairing your truck, and wiping out a check point. Which doesn't sound too bad except the checkpoints apparently respawn in minutes, so you have to keep fighting the same groups of people and the same trucks (which try to ram you) over and over again as you travel back and forth for different missions.

I'd really like to play this game but I think I'm going to wait a bit to see if they patch it up and remove any of the annoyances.

I wonder though... I'm sure extensive play testing was done, and if it was that annoying I'm sure play testers would have made that clear. But who knows. Guess we will find out.

You didn't really just say that did you? If developers had the say(Publisher rules the roost), half the games we play would never be released from listening to testers.

I'm sure extensive testing was done too, I'm also sure EA said "we have a timeframe" and "tough ****".

Ah, of course...EA wanted to be sure this game released before Fallout 3 and CoD5...makes perfect sense. Some people will be able to afford only one, and the first one to release has an advantage.

You are saying EA doesn't care if the most highly anticipated game of the year is going to get negative reviews over something than can be changed in a relative snap of the finger?

If people are only going to buy one, they very well may pass on this one over negative reviews. It's one thing to push a game out with bugs or under developed content, but changing the number of patrols in an area, or the time it takes for a check point to repopulate can be changed at any time.

Anyway my point is that what may be annoying to one, might be fun for another. I have not seen a single game released that doesn't have haters jumping into the games thread just to say how bad it sucks. In that regard you're right that they can't listen to play testers all day, but if they get a commomn report from every tester across the board, they are likely to take that report seriously.

I agree. I for one am looking foward to a HARD game. I like it when there ISN'T quick travel options, and other **** that has invaded PC gaming since consoles took off. It all adds to the immersion for me.

Hard can be good, but if its repetitive and makes no sense it can just be frustrating.

The complaint I've seen a couple times is that the guys at check points begin firing on you and immediately drive straight into as soon as you come into view, without having any idea who you are. And it happens the same way every time you pass through that area.
