View Full Version : Found a glitch in Far Cry 2 and Creative X-fi Extreme Gamer Fatality Pro Soundcard

I am running the latest (July 2008) WHQL Vista 64 Bit Drivers for the card. Everything passes in dxdiag...and I have many games installed that run 5.1 sound (Crysis, Assassin's Creed, Crysis Warhead, Half Life 2 and numerous others. Problem with Far Cry 2. Only Stereo sound....doesn't recognize the X-fi nor 5.1 sound for my hardware, even though Sound aplet in Control panel is set to 5.1 as well as all the Creative Software settings for 5.1 sound. There has been a workaround that others are using to get 5.1 sound out of the card, but only in 32 bit OS. When I go into the sound setup in the game, I get volume and music...as my only music choices. In most games, there is a setting for 5.1, 7.1, etc. Is anyone running 64 bit XP or Vista with 5.1 sound enabled in this game? How did you do it?
