doesn't steam have the potential to screw with mods?

Meh $68.74 for the steam version, that's a bit too much for me considering I can buy it for $41 including shipping from a retailer.

It should not, games installed with steam usually have the same folder structure as a game installed from a disc.

The steam version though can sometimes delay patches though. If Bethesda does it right there won't be any other DRM on the steam version but Steam's native, so when they make a patch, they'll have to make one standard for retail version patch and one for steam and probably one for Direct2Drive also.

I rather get Fallout 3 Collector's Edition. I just freaking love its lunchbox. I'm going to take it to school just to look cool. :D

I pre-purchased the game (still US $49.99 here) as the game isn't releasing here officially.

@Nutcrackr - You could ask a friend to "gift" the game to you (obviously if its still 49.99 in their region), you could just paypal him the money. That should work right?

That's ****ing ridiculous, wasn't the point of steam to be cheaper than BnM stores?

I could wander down to EBGames and pre-order it for like 80-90 bucks AND have a nice manual etc. It's just stupid, greedy ****ers.

Send me $60 in PayPal and I'll gift it to you. Paypal takes like $5 for the transaction, the rest is a tip for me ;)

I'll be quite honest, I cheat with these types of games and feel neither remorse or that I've lost anything meaningful by doing the deed. I get so sucked into the story that the challenge becomes a frustration; it's like having to read a book while being required to do a puzzle in order for the lights to stay on. I'd rather just keep reading.

I'd totally buy it through Steam, but I'm questioning whether I'd have the same ability to edit game files with it as I did with Oblivion and Morrowind.

This explains my gaming style as well, I use cheats in many games because I just don't want to die.

If a game is really easy I don't bother though.

You can't be serious?!

I still have to reinstall Steam, but I'll check it out when I gets home.

Aren't all Steam prices USD? Not AUD...?

Send me $55 in PayPal and I'll gift it to you. Paypal takes like $2.50 for the transaction, the rest is a tip for me ;)
Very nice offer, thankyou.

Unfortunately the AUD is a complete joke compared to the greenback and I'd be paying probably more than retail ;)

Nice to see. Though I think I'll be going for the CE.

Not all pricing is USD on steam. COD4, Farcry 2, Fallout 3, etc. They have AUD prices listed.

I'm pretty sure they are all in USD, but would gladly accept being wrong in this case.

There is just no way Far Cry 2 would be $55 Australian.

As it doesn't list AUD or USD could be either. But I checked and they are the USD on all but Call of Duty 4. Buying off Steam right now is more expensive than retail. ::(:

**** Rudd!

Is this game any good? It looks really interesting, though I've never played the previous Fallout games. I usually play FPS titles, but I really enjoyed the RPG elements in Dark Messiah and BioShock. I want to give an RPG a shot.

I just bought it along with Left 4 Dead....
