6800GT AGP Drivers?

Is there any need, or benefit to using the latest, or close to latest version of drivers for a 6800GT AGP card?

I was only considering using the 80.xx or 90.xx was all...

Only upgrade if you need newer open GL extensions or want to solve a problem or want to get new ones. 177.80 is the latest. 173.14.05 runs fine with my 7600GT AGP under Kubuntu Dapper.

From what I saw there's some newer codec support in the newer versions, which I thought might come in handy for most, that's about all I can see...
