So I install new cats on my media pc. And set rez to 1360x768. Real nice looking, it's the native rez of the tv.

Then I switch from HDMI1 to HDMI2 to watch tv. I come back, and wtf? I'm kicked to 1024x768! Bleh! Furthermore, I'm told that my displays are in clone mode, like there's 2 hooked up!

And then to fix the issue, I have to disable display one, and then set display 2 to the 1360x768 rez.

Bleh!!

Release notes for cats 8.6 AND the new ones (8.10?) both state something about the resolution of an HDMI hot-plug issue.

This messed with my registry or something because even if I roll back drivers all the way to 8.5 I still have this problem.

Another PC i have, exactly the same with cat 8.5, does not at all have this issue when hooked to the tv. It does erroneously report that there is another display however, but it shows it as disabled.

grr...
