Hi everyone. I installed virtual PC 2007 for laughs and installed the pretty horrid Windows ME on it and I can't get internet to work for it. I have a broadband connection and I KNOW that someone has gotten it to work. I also have an old copy of windows 98SE if I really want to go retro. Have any of you gotten internet to work in this emulated box? I know it works without a hitch on later OSes but that's no fun.
Any input will be appreciated thanks.

I had it worked years ago, you will need to go in Virtual PC's profile for Windows ME and enabled NAT that will enable Windows ME on Virtual PC to share broadband on the same network.

You need to use winipcfg to check and make sure that you're getting an IP.

is that an app in widows ME? I've never messed with this config before.
I hope I can get it to work. For me setting up a virtual pc is a good safeguard if any of my family wants to use my computer. You see they can screw up a computer in a couple hours with spam and downloadable cursor apps and whatnot and I just want a nice little virtual rig running that I don't care about if they screw up. And Windows ME doesn't take that much hdd space on a virtual drive.

yea it's a graphical version of ipconfig. You need to type it into the run command in order to start it as there isn't an icon for it.

Ok thanks man I got it to work. It was just a LAN setting in the MSN setup. NOW I am running the crappiest OS ever in full glory! HA HA HA
