Hey guys

Just wondering, if anyone in here has OCd a Q9550 on a stock cooler, and if so, what speed did you get ?

I can get from stock 2.83 to 3.2ghz -3.3ghz, idle ~45, but on FULL load shes loading up to 85 degrees, that cant be safe ? and in prime 95 only she sky rockets to 100+ and sometimes just powers off (im guessing built in protection to not fry the cpu)

So has anyone oc'd using the stock HSF?

thanks

I would invest in better cooling if your going to OC that chip http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/coolers/display/thermalright-ultra120ex.html ;) Your not going to very far with Intel's stock cooler, those load temps are way to high.

I would definitely pickup a different cooler if you are planning to OC at all.

100C?

I don't let my duo get over 55C after overclocking and I'm running it at 1.5 volts. :o
