Question to giggles:

HAHAHA
Let me explain, I don't work for Microsoft. I work for an employee owned company that are Microsoft Partners. Yes, we sell we support microsoft products along with some others. I support, implement, train, customize, etc. an accounting package called Great Plains. I have done that since before Microsoft bought them up and put their name on them.
So, no I won't get shot. Yes, I have to run our product in an XP VM. Zoomy told me about Ubuntu so I am trying it out.
:) How's that for an answer. (longest post I think I have ever made)

Honestly, Yesterday was my first work day on the Ubuntu laptop. I ran into a couple of hickups but nothing major.
I like it. Give me a week to get over my windows withdrawals and I will have a better opinion i am sure.

That's awesome Giggles. I finally made my Ubuntu desktop "comfy", a hybrid between the Windows and Mac OS X style desktop. I do need to have a VirtualBox WinXP install for certain apps but I haven't gotten around to doing that yet. If it weren't for gaming, I would probably ditch Windows altogether . . . but my PC is the only gaming machine I have.

I dual boot my tablet, with a small XP partition only for Guild Wars. I have a VirtualBox setup with XP in case I need it, but between my Citrix server and Crossover Office, I have needed to use my XP yet. but i know the moment i remove it, i will need it. my 8.10 ubuntu is great. everything works and it's very elegant.
giggles has started to see what i have been seeing for weeks... how ineffecient Windows really is and how much hand holding it requires. Her and I spent all weekend getting her all setup - 5% time was used setting up linux, 95% time was used hand holding windows in the VM. gah!

I just wish that Wine would fully work RIGHT with Photoshop CS3 and maybe a few games. Heck, games are one of the only things holding me back from completely switching to Ubuntu! I'm sure the same could be said for a lot of PC gamers/Windows users.

Ubuntu is a big fat slow piece of crap that cannot play even the simplest flash files and the version of java it comes with is awful!
I don't get how MS got into trouble for it's own version of java with Windows, but Ubuntu can have it's own version. Lame!
