I have noticed dead pixel yesterday... red one. I was so upset.. because it's very bright and you can see it from every angle. I was checking my email today and that pixel got me angry so took Microfiber cleaning cloth which came with the monitor and tried to wipe if off :D didn't work :D so i pressed on it hard..just because i'm pissed off/ BOOM GONE!!! (nana2) is that how u get rid of dead pixels?

It can be. There are a lot of ways you should try such as quick alternating black and white images, putting some pressure on the affected area or just giving it a week or so as it might just disappear on its own.

How hard did you press against the screen?

You should not press very hard at all you don't want to cause more damage, you take a cloth and sort of massage the dead pixel in a circular motion, sounds gay yea ... but it works.

Heh, that's pretty awesome. I'll have to remember that for when I finally make the jump to LCD.

It's not a dead pixel. It's a stuck pixel. Dead pixels are permanent, and are usually black or white depending on your screen.

I have tried the circular motion trick before and it did work. It is hit or miss as it didn't work on another monitor I tried.
