View Full Version : I'm too sure about this.
Foxnews is reporting via the Wall Street Journal (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,87638,00.html) that Uday (Saddam's son) is thinking of surrendering. Not to sure of what to make of this.
Saddam is also alive and in suburban Baghdad, the person familiar with Uday's surrender discussions said he has been told by a Saddam relative. He added that the deposed leader is in questionable mental health.
I can see it now. LOL

Great, so when we catch him, what are we going to do with him?
1) Ask him for the WMD's we still haven't found
2) Put him on trial for ....
That #2 is a problem, I don't think you can try someone for war crimes if they haven't commited any.
Last I checked, Iraq did nothing illegal in the war.
Now, the Iraqi could try him for crimes he's commited against other Iraqi, but for that to happen, there would need to be a functioning Iraqi government.
Of course all of this is assuming we're playing by the laws that govern occupying another nation. I think we all know what that's worth to the Bush admin.

What they ought to do with that filthy pig is hang him up like Benito Mussolini and let everyone spit and urinate on him.
After all, he is a savage. Not a human being.

While I can agree to that, that's for the Iraqi to decide, of course I'm sure they can come up with far worse....

It doesn't mention anything about war crimes. What are you talking about.

There is always crimes against the human race. I imagine the Kurd's would like to see us charge him with genocide after his nerve/mustard gas attack on their villages in the early 90's.

In our own interests we probably wouldn't want to try him for that, as we actively encouraged the Iraqi to use those weapons.

whoa whoa whoa....lets keep that out of this thread since we know how it always turns out. I think they should be tried in a International court for their crimes, then lock them up and throw away the key.
did anyone catch onto this part of the article >
Coalition forces in Iraq dismissed the report.

Aiding and abetting
A bit, I just like to encourage critical thinking whenever possible. I find it's not done much these days, too many are willing to accept things at face value.
Intellectual slavery basically.

Well you got the critical part down. :D I'd say it's more like "abstract critical". :p
