It was funny the first time, now stop cluttering a PC forum with this trash. There is a linux section. Go play there.

DX10 doesn't really count because it was inexorably tied to the failure of windows vista. besides, your DX10 cards will probably still be adequate when windows 7 hits. most games are watered down so they will run on consoles anyway, meaning DX9 level graphics. think Fallout3, and how much better it could have looked if it weren't held back by the consoles. when PS4/xbox3 hits it will be time to get a new card.

i am wondering this summer i bought my HD4870 PowerCOlor and i do understand that DX11 works with DX10 cards only one misses the eyecandy of DX11 now i did understand that DX10 didn´t differ all that much from 9?
well when are the first NV/ATI cards using DX11 to come out?
1Year, 2Years?
so i know to start saving feels like would´ve wanted 2HD4870´s since i have 2x 16PCI-E slots
well well they´ll work on DX11 cards too :

since the DX 11 spec isn't even done yet. one can assume probably around the time the spec is completed.

yeah it's in windows 7 beta. I've ran a few games using my laptop with Win7 beta and really noticed no performance differences between it and vista.

nope I ran crysis but didn't specify which DX mode to run it in. I have no idea what it was running with but I'm not even sure if DX10 mode can be used. I'm wondering if DX11 downscales back to DX10 compatibility level or something..
It was a slide show though... built in laptop graphics FTL :thumbdwn:
And what's different with the 7000 build?

build 7000 supposelly is the beta that will be released to public in few days, it has leaked.
I don't see any difference, but I'm sure there is something

Dx10.x will be a subset of Dx11.

The base specifications are finalized.

They can still add further incremental changes over the coming months and after it's introduction though. DX 11.x.

OS X looks nice, but is very tedious to use. Windows 7 offers the best of both worlds.

DX11 is basicly finished. Microsoft is developing DX12 now. Not kidding.
That's how technology goes.

I'm already coding DX13 in my house. MS has requested that I make more shades of brown.

No, Microsoft had DX11 planned for a long time. DX10 and especially 10.1 was to make it easier for hardware manufactorers (ATI NVIDIA INTEL) to develop compatible hardware and see where Microsoft wantet to go with DX. In the end we will get Tesselation, multi-threading, fine grained task switching and a new standard for GPGPU.
It's just NVIDIA that is a little behind, becuase their architecture needs more work, especially for the multi-threading and fine grained task switching.
Personally I dont trust ATI drivers so I wait patiently for a DX11 card from NVIDIA to replace my 7900 gt.
